UNEDITED RAW FILE

This week’s Episode: Ultra-long Exposure

In this video, I take you through my editing process for one of the wave images I captured at Ballydowane Beach in Waterford. The first thing I had to do was clean up the raw file as I had a hell of a lot of sensor spots on the image. Must have been some spray that had gotten on the sensor from my trip to Dingle last time. So this was an added challenge to take on that wasn’t necessarily needed. While I was at it I took the extra two rocks to the left and the last edge of another stack to the right out as they were distracting in the image I felt. The edit of this image would be one of two haves, the foreground would be pretty straightforward as it was the glass-like finish from the 2-minute exposure, and the sky would have its own treatment as I wanted to remove the colour from the clouds, It wasn’t quite golden hour yet when I took it, but the makings of the change had started to happen. The remaining main subject being these two stacks was all that was necessary. I also want to play with the white balance to ensure I had a nice tone to the image overall.

You can see my step process in the video below.
