The Christmas Meetup with Ireland's Finest Landscape Photographers

Gathering with some of Ireland's most talented landscape photographers for a Christmas meetup organized by my good friend Bernard Geraghty was lots of fun as always Our meeting point was the stunning Copper Coast in Waterford, promising a picturesque sunrise to kick off our day.

As we arrived at the Copper Coast in the early morning hours, anticipation filled the air. The rugged coastline and dramatic cliffs provided the perfect backdrop for our photography expedition. Despite the chill in the air, the camaraderie among us kept spirits high as we set up our equipment, eagerly awaiting the first light of dawn.

I was lucky to have talented videographer Cal De Bri with us, he travels with Bernard for many of his shoots to film the adventure and create content for Bernard and himself. I took this opportunity to hand over my Osmo and Cal to take over filming of the morning. Capturing not only the content and narrative of my shoot but also some candid moments from some of the other talented photographers who felt brave enough to get in front of the camera. The bleep machine would be in full flow when It came to my editing that for sure

Bernard Geraghty's planning ensured that everything ran smoothly. From coordinating the meetup to selecting the ideal location, who was to be included in the meetup chat to where we would have breakfast, his attention to detail was evident every step of the way. It was clear that this gathering was more than just a photography outing; it was a celebration of our shared passion for capturing the beauty of Ireland's landscapes.

As the first rays of sunlight peeked over the horizon, casting a golden glow across the rugged coastline, many shutters clicked in unison. Each photographer brought their unique perspective to the scene, resulting in a diverse array of stunning images that showcased the Copper Coast in all its glory.

After capturing the sunrise, we gathered for a hearty breakfast of full Irish fry-up. The sizzle of bacon, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and the laughter of friends coming together created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was the perfect way to refuel after an early start and to exchange tips and tricks from our morning shoot, as well as have the many laughs that we all enjoyed during the morning shoot

Buoyed by good food and great company, we embarked on further explorations of the area, eager to uncover new hidden gems to photograph. However, as often happens with Irish weather, our plans were thwarted by the sudden onset of inclement weather. Dark clouds rolled in, obscuring the sun and threatening rain, forcing us to abandon our outdoor pursuits and seek shelter indoors.

Despite the unexpected events, the Christmas meetup was a resounding success. It allowed us to connect with fellow photographers, exchange ideas, and immerse ourselves in the beauty of Ireland's landscapes. As we bid farewell to the Copper Coast and each other, already looking forward to our next adventure together, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the friendships forged and the memories created on this day.
