This week’s Episode: Crowded Waterfall

One of the challenges I had for this shoot was the sheer amount of people, there were people on the rocks, people in the water and general people arriving and leaving every few minutes. Not surprisingly as this place is stunning, nonetheless I set about trying to catch a few shots and more challenging record a video with all these people around. For the edit of this shot, I had very little to do, I was using my telephoto to find some nice patterns in the waterfall and the rocks, and this comp jumped out at me, I like how the rocks act as a frame at the bottom and I intentionally focused on them at f4 to allow the waterfall to fade off into the background with bokeh. All I needed to then do for this edit was to bring out the texture in the water, the small fingers of water as they headed down the scene worked well I felt. A simple edit really but one that I wanted to share as they don’t always have to be complicated
